Keegan Allen Earns Rave Reviews From the New York Times For Small Engine Repair!

As sad as we are to bid adieu to Toby Cavanaugh in Season 4 of Pretty Little Liars, we know Keegan Allen had a good reason for leaving Rosewood.

For the past two months, Keegan has been in New York City starring in Small Engine Repair, an Off Broadway production about a privileged jock who turns up at an out-of-the-way repair shop, and stirs up plenty of resentment in the three former high schools buddies who frequent the shop. Keegan is playing Chad, the aforementioned privileged jock. And it looks like Keegan’s hard work is paying off!

The New York Times recently gave the play, written by and starring John Pollono, a rave review! The Times describes the play as “raw, funny and well-tooled,” and they hail Keegan’s performance of “smoothly arrogant Chad” as “a precise portrait of 21st-century entitlement, junior class.”

Whoa! Now we’re more excited than ever to see Keegan flex his acting muscles on the Off Broadway stage! Small Engine Repair is currently playing at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in Greenwich Village.

We’re not sure what this means for Toby’s arc when Season 4 returns in January. Obviously, he’s going to have to leave Rosewood at some point in the winter season. We know the PLL cast and crew are currently filming Episode 21 (“She’s Come Undone”), and the episode isn’t going to be kind to poor Spencer. Troian tweeted a behind-the-scenes pic from set, and from the looks of it, it looks like Spencer was crying! Could she be upset over Toby’s departure?

Perhaps Toby is going off to find out more information on his mother’s death, or could he still be upset Spencer told the Liars about “A’s” blackmail? Pretty Little Liars writer recently told Wetpaint Entertainment that things are going to get “intense” for Spoby in Season 4B. We’re really hoping this doesn’t result in a break up.
