CBS asked one of its star reporters, the host of "60 Minutes" Lara Logan, who took vacation after his failed attack story on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi (Libya).
The program revolved around the story of an interviewee who had great detail the night he was attacked the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, resulting in the death of the ambassador.
However, it soon emerged doubts about the veracity of the testimony and the string itself concluded that the program had been very diligent in checking what the witness said.
