Jennette Michelle Faye McCurdy ( June 26, 1992 ) is an American actress and country singer . Known for co - starring in the Nickelodeon series , iCarly , in the role of Sam Puckett . He has also participated from his childhood in various programs like , Victorious , True Jackson, VP , Will & Grace , Strong Medicine , Zoey 101, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , Malcolm in the Middle, Judging Amy and Medium, among others.
Jennette McCurdy was born in Garden Grove, California, right after her mother recovered from breast cancer. But fifteen years later his mother sick again , and this time more than one cancer. His mother has since recovered , and she has dedicated her song " Not That Far Away" , because as the letter says , in order to continue his career Jennette has had to distance himself from her .
