Fue escrita por Jepsen, Travish Crowe y Josh Ramsay, mientras que su producción musical quedó a cargo de este último. Se lanzó como sencillo en Canadá el 20 de septiembre de 2011 y en los Estados Unidos el 22 de febrero de 2012, ambos en la tienda digital iTunes.
El tema contó con una buena recepción por parte de los críticos. Melody Lau de la revista Rolling Stone comentó que es «una dulce canción dance pop [que habla] sobre la esperanza de un llamado [del amor]», mientras que Nicole James de MTV comentó que es «la canción más pegajosa que nunca escuché»
La canción también tuvo buen desempeño comercial, llegó al número uno en más de diez países,8 entre los que se encuentran Australia, Canadá, Dinamarca, Finlandia, Francia, Irlanda, Nueva Zelanda, Suiza y los Estados Unidos, y logró ser certificada con disco de oro y multi platino en más de ocho países, entre los que se encuentran Alemania, Australia, Bélgica, Canadá, Dinamarca, los Estados Unidos, Nueva Zelanda y Suiza.
