Jim Harbaugh took a risk by turning his team over to Colin Kaepernick well into the 2012 NFL season.
It’s a risk that has already panned out as the San Francisco 49ers have returned to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 1994-95 NFL season.
Kaepernick is going to reward his trusting coach
even further by adding a sixth Lombardi Trophy to the franchises record books.
With a win, he would join Joe Montana (Super Bowls XVI, XIX, XXIII and XXIV) and Steve Young (Super Bowl XXIX) as the only quarterbacks to lead the franchise to that level of success.
In turn, Harbaugh will reap the benefits as well and will be given unlimited praise and leeway to continue to build this team in his image.
