He explained that the recent jump in the valuation of the currency, which today is U.S. $ 814 per bitcoin , from U.S. $ 13 it cost in early 2013 , is due to increased demand from those they have realized how powerful this currency. Big retail chains are considering bitcoins as payment , and the seller of TigerDirect technology became known last month for being one of the first businesses to take the initiative .

The aim of the conference was to attract attention by bitcoin , and other public interest beyond programmers and hackers . Evidently they got the attention they wanted, including media coverage as the Miami Herald and Forbes.
CNN Money described it as " the largest conference in the history of bitcoin , scammers , dreamers , sharks and technocrats ."
Levin added that the organizers chose Miami as the venue for easy access and central location that has both the North and the South American continent.

Blockchain , a team of bloggers and bitcoin enthusiasts , described the event as "a really great meeting of innovation and inspiring energy " and noted that " a subject that flew throughout the conference was the need to educate not only the public but also to major financial regulators . "
Bitcoin has been criticized , they write, " but the traditional bank will become obsolete quickly unless regulators know educated on the value and usefulness of the Bitcoin network."
Some members of this group , along with many conference attendees , did not hide his motivation for attending is to search for greater independence of the individual . The decentralized nature of the currency exceeds any government or financial output and conventional Blockchain members will attend next month at the Freedom Forum New Hampshire.
