George Timothy Clooney (Lexington, Kentucky, May 6, 1961) is an actor, director, producer and screenwriter of American film, winner of the Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA awards for his roles in the films Syriana and The Descendants, and as for having produced the film Argo.
George Clooney 's father , Nick Clooney, was a popular TV presenter in Cincinnati. His mother was the policy Sento Nina Warren. Has an older sister, Ada (born 1958). Besides his father , has several artists in his family, and his uncles , Rosemary Clooney (singer and actress, 1928-2002 ) , married to Jose Ferrer (who won an Oscar for Best Actor in 1950 for the film Cyrano de Bergerac ) and his cousins Michael ( b. 1955) and Rafael Ferrer ( b. 1960). He became known in the television series ER , but had almost a decade working in many other series on the small screen . He then had commercial and critical success with films like O Brother , Where Art Thou? or Three Kings .
His first passion was not the interpretation but baseball, but he could not fulfill his dream of becoming a professional player. He discovered the cinema thanks to his cousin , son of actor José Ferrer, who encouraged him to act in a film with a brief role . The film was never released , but Clooney was then raised to get serious . So he moved to Los Angeles, where for years he was working as a side in countless television series. It became the highest-paid unknown actor in Hollywood. Everything changed in the mid- 1990s, when he participated in ER . The series was a great success and made Clooney a star. Thereafter they began to reach out for film offers . His first major production was From Dusk Till Dawn , a vampiric thriller from Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino released in 1995.
Clooney has been consolidated as a major star in Hollywood because of its attractiveness , its solid presence as an actor and his talent. His films include titles such as the romantic comedy One Fine Day , with Michelle Pfeiffer ; Sight , an intelligent thriller by Steven Soderbergh (the movie you liked most star ) or war drama Three Kings , for which garnered rave reviews .
