Kate Elizabeth Winslet, CBE (born 5 October 1975, Reading, England) is a British actress and occasional singer. In 2008 he won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in The Reader, becoming the youngest to win the award more nominations actress. It has also been awarded the Golden Globe, SAG, BAFTA, Emmy, among other many important awards for his work in film and television.

Raised in Berkshire at age 11 began studying acting at the Redroofs Theatre School and at age 12 made his first television appearance in participating in an advertisement.
