Mack arranged a contract with Curb Records, and would this stamp which would edit the single " Blue " under the claim that the DJ had waited over 30 years to find the ideal vocalist. The truth is that this was all hype, "Blue" had been recorded by at least three different artists.
However, the rumor spread across the country , reaching the music press , which included the myth that Rimes was the successor to Cline . "Blue " and the album of the same name who accompanied him became one of the biggest hits of summer 1996.
