Jeremy Sumpter Biography

Jeremy Robert Myron Sumpter (b. February 5, 1989) is an American actor. His prominent roles include the title role in the action film Live 2003 Peter Pan and the recurring role of JD McCoy in the NBC television series Friday Night Lights (2008-2010). More recently co-starred with AnnaSophia Robb and Helen Hunt movie Soul Surfer.

He grew up in a small town in Kentucky where his family moved still very young. When Jeremy was 11 years old enrolled in a talent competition, winning numerous awards. It was associated with a personal manager and moved to Los Angeles in 2000. After a few months in Los Angeles and some performances, Jeremy won the role of the child "Adam Meiks" in "Chill" directed by Bill Paxton. Later, Jeremy was
chosen by Danny Glover for the role of "Henry Sturbuck" in "Just a Dream". He received the award for Best Performance in a TV Movie, Miniseries or young lead actor, the "Young Artist Awards".
"Local Boys" was his next film, which would test their skills in the surf of Southern California as a surfer.

After a worldwide search, Jeremy was cast as Peter in the version of PJ Hogan's Peter Pan Peter Pan: the great adventure. This has been one of the most coveted roles for the past few years teen actor. For this film Jeremy had an intense training in both wrestling and gymnastics.

In his spare time, Jeremy surfing, basketball and golf.
