Taylor Daniel Lautner ( b. Grand Rapids , Michigan , USA , February 11, 1992 ) is an actor, model , voice actor and American martial arts fighter . He began his career in the mid -2000s , performing small appearances in television series such as The Bernie Mac Show ( 2003) and My Wife and Kids (2004) and lending his voice to characters in the animated What's New programs , Scooby -Doo ? (2005) and Danny Phantom ( 2005). In 2005 he starred in the films The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3 -D and Cheaper by the Dozen 2 .

His international recognition began to develop when he was chosen to play the role of Jacob Black in the Twilight film in 2008 and its aftermath, titled The Twilight Saga : New Moon and The Twilight Saga : Eclipse. He also participated in the romantic comedy Valentine's Day and in the action film Abduction . His performances earned him numerous awards , including the MTV Movie Awards , People's Choice Awards, and Scream Awards. In 2010 he was one of the twenty highest paid actors in Hollywood.

Taylor was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan United States, son of Deborah and Daniel Lautner. Has French, German, Dutch roots, and Native American (Potawatomi and Ottawa) by his mother. Has a sister named Makena Lautner born in 1999.

Lautner studied karate from six to thirteen, training at Fabiano's Karate School in Holland, Michigan. The year after its beginning, and beginning to win championships. I was invited to train with seven-time World Champion Karate, Michael Chaturantabut, and when he turned eight, he was invited to represent their country in the World Karate Association where, in the Junior World Forms and Weapons mode, won three gold medals.
