Stamatina Elizabeth "Tina" Fey (born May 18, 1970, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania) is an American actress, comedian, writer, screenwriter and producer. She is known for her performance on Saturday Night Live, for starring in the TV comedy 30 Rock and for participating in several films, including Mean Girls (2004), Baby Mama (2008) and Date Night (2010) are found.
Fey currently co-produces, writes and acts in the TV show 30 Rock, a sitcom loosely based on his own experiences while working on Saturday Night Live.
Fey was born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia. His father's name is Don Fey, German and Scottish ancestors, and his mother is Greek-American.
After Fey graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in drama in 1992, moved to Chicago, working at a YMCA day and taking courses at The Second City at night. Then realized what she called an "amateur" attempt at stand-up comedy, and learned that the key to improvisation is "focus on your partner. Tomas what he gives you and use it to build a scene."
