'Fast and Furious 7' set a new record for release in Mexico to raise 86.8 million pesos and record 1.6 million attendees in one day.
The film premiered Thursday in Mexico in 3,980 rooms and is ranked first at the box office, Universal Pictures said Friday in a statement.
The film beat previous box office successes like 'Iron Man 3' (64.5 million pesos) and 'Avengers The Avengers' (64.1 million pesos). It also improved the mark of 54.4 million pesos ($ 3.6 million) had reached 'Fast and Furious 6' in the country.
