Dwayne Johnson lend his voice to Moana

Moana, the new classic Disney animation being prepared, will feature the voice of Dwayne Johnson for one of his characters. The Rock was one of the surprises that kept the house of Mickey Mouse in the last panel of the D23 Expo. His character is Maui, a legendary demigod who try to impress the protagonist of the story.

The film was released by Disney in October last year. Will take place in the ancient world of the South Pacific Oceania and submit to Moana, a teenager who embarks in search of a mythical island. During the trip he will join Maui to cross the ocean and thus encountering sea creatures and underworld full of ancient beings.

In a scene that was shown at the event, which we detailed our fellow Americans, Maui tries to impress with his strength and muscles Moana. "I am the greatest demigod of the Pacific Islands," said Johnson's character supremely bored while the new Disney princess. The scene continues with increased drum sounds. The cause is none other than one of the tattoos of Maui, which will be one of the "characters" animated feature comedians.

Dwayne Johnson was flattered to be the person chosen to give life to Maui. "Telling the story inspired by the South Pacific is an honor," said Johnson. The offspring of the actor is in Samoa, an archipelago in the waters born precisely where the story unfolds Moana.

Disney has not yet an actress to represent Moana. At least it not has been announced at any time. Our colleagues who attended the D23 Expo tell us that at no time is seen talking to the protagonist. The film will be released late next year.
