Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It is of Chinese descent on her mother's side (though her mother was raised in Vietnam) , and German and Irish from her father. When Munn was two, her mother married again, this time with a man in the Air Force of the United States . Although his family moved several times , Munn was primarily raised in Tokyo , Japan , where his father was transferred . During this time , he appeared in several stage productions , and then began to model within the Japanese fashion industry . His parents divorced and returned to Oklahoma, where she attended Putnam City North High School, where primary and secondary school he attended , and met bassist Hinder Mike Rodden , future Oklahoma Senator Daid Holt and author Aaron Goldfarb . Also attended the University of Oklahoma , majoring in journalism and minor in Japanese studies and performing arts.
Munn moved to Los Angeles to begin an acting career . In 2004 , he worked as a commentator for the men's soccer and women's basketball . He later clarified that it was not a pleasant experience , explaining "I was trying to be something it was not, and that made me feel uncomfortable on live TV ."
