Nina Dobrev (Sofia Bulgaria, 9 January 1989 birth name Nikolina Konstantinova Dobreva, in Bulgarian: Нина Константинова Добрева) is a Canadian-Bulgarian actress. Known primarily for her role as Mia Jones on Degrassi series: The Next Generation and Elena Gilbert / Katherine Pierce / Amara in The CW series The Vampire Diaries, based on the novel by LJ Smith.
Nina Dobrev moved to Canada when she was two and has lived in Toronto since.
