Chinese Horoscope: January 31 starts the Year of the Horse

The January 31, 2014 ends the Year of the Snake that governed the last twelve months and begins the Year of the Horse.
While in Western culture and welcomed 2014 in the Far East still will have to wait until 31 January, with the beginning of the Lunar calendar, to begin the
new cycle beginning with the Year of the Wooden Horse .

This year will be marked by stability and general optimism for life that conveys the horse , this will allow this cycle is less harmful than the last. But what is its origin? How can we apply it in this part of the world?

Its origins date back to 2637 BC when Chinese emperor Huang Ti introduced the first cycle of the zodiac in the year 61 of his reign.
Each cycle takes 60 years and met and consists of five periods , each of 12 years and are represented by animals: Rat , Ox , Tiger , Rabbit , Dragon , Snake , Horse, Sheep , Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.
Cycle 78 began in February 1984 and end in 2044.

Each of these animals also roam the five elements governed by the action of the planets, which are wood (Jupiter ) , fire ( Mars) , earth ( Saturn) , or gold metal (Venus ) , and water ( mercury ) . Thus we have, for example, Wooden Horse , or Horse of Fire, and so on in each period.
