"Masters of Sex" teaches about sexuality

Masters of Sex, has become one of the best series on sexuality, to be renewed for a third season Showtimes. Based on true events, the gynecologist William Masters (Michael Sheen) is obsessed with explaining human sexuality to advance their hires as his assistant, Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) a divorced woman with two children and liberal studies.


The series is based on a book by Thomas Maier, on the gynecologist William Masters and Virginia Johnson psychologist, whose studies of sexuality in the 60s changed the preconceptions of the time.

Progress in their research, the use of real live subjects having sex as part of their trial and extra-professional relationship that develops between the two protagonists, are some of the ingredients are there in this particular series.

In real life, sexuality studies led them to found the Masters and Johnson Institute in San Francisco, from which managed to break the great taboo that existed about sex.
