The scandals do not end in the NFL and this time was led by running back Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings, who is charged in Montgomery County, Texas, on charges of injury to his youngest son.
Peterson's lawyer, Rusty Hardin, issued a statement on Friday reporting that his client's conduct "involves the use of a stick to beat his son."
According to a report by Sports Radio 610 Houston station, Peterson leaves off the branch of a tree,
which is defined in the police report as a "stick" to hit the child.
This new case comes to light days after he released a video where Ray Rice, formerly of Baltimore, beat his wife in an elevator. Peterson has not yet been arrested in Texas.
"The athlete will face charges apply according to the offense, with the same respect and responsibility that has contributed to this investigation from the beginning," said the lawyer.
"It's important to remember that Adrian never wanted to hurt her son and deeply regrets unintentional injuries," Hardin said.
